Hello Family,
Blessings, love, and peace to you and your family.
Blessings, love, and peace to you and your family.
My sisters and I usually talk and pray together every Saturday morning. We pray, talk, laugh, cry, and share information on everything (health, diet, hurts, ups and downs, etc.). On the prayer call yesterday this quote was shared by one of the sisters.
"Don't try to put out a fire that hasn't started." Patricia Williamson I was blessed by her quote and wanted to share it with you.

"You cannot out dream God. You cannot create something in your mind that God cannot produce."
Dr. Mike Murdock Amen and Amen! I was thinking about what my next reflection would be and this came to me: Are you really who you think you are?
Growing up we watched the Game Show, To Tell The Truth. The three challengers on the show all claimed to have the same name and occupation. The three panelist asked the challengers questions to figure out who was really telling the truth. At the end of the show each panelist had to pick the person that they believed were telling the truth. I thought about my truths, my habits, likes, dislikes, activities, beliefs, and what I'm doing every day and why. This is what I discovered. Some things that I do, I'm doing totally based on other peoples thought and feelings. This prompted me to start paying attention to what I'm doing and why I'm doing it. After starting this new exercise I've discovered that I'm happier and that I have more peace. It would be a different world, if we all were our authentic selves. In 2024 that's my mission. As I sit here reflecting on life and this New Year two thoughts came to mind.
The first one is a line from a song by the Winans. "Millions didn't make it, but I'm one of the ones that did." If you think about last year and the people that you knew, who are no longer here it's overwhelming. It seemed like every week, then it went to every other day a relative, friend, acquaintance or. neighbor was leaving here for eternity. My sister, Cheryl; cousins Earnest and Pete; friends Jeff, Roland, and Carol left this earth for eternity in 2023. I still pray for the ones closest to them. My second reflection is: Just love, No score. What that means, is to just love people and not keep score. Love people regardless, if they spoke or didn't, if they paid you the money back that they owe you or not, if they said please or thank you, if they keep asking you for favors, if they like you or not. We are to love everybody unconditionally. I am by no means saying love and stay with someone who is abusive, but we are to love our neighbors as ourselves. No score means don't keep score as to what you did for someone. Don't keep score of how many times you helped them compared to how many times they helped you. Don't keep score of how many sacrifices you made for them and think what have you done for me lately. No don't keep score. If you help, help freely and lovingly, but if it's not in you to help, don't do it, you may regret it. Blessings and love, Darlene |
