Hello Family,
Blessings, love, and peace to you and your family.
Blessings, love, and peace to you and your family.
Last month I attended the Annual Line Dance Convention here in Pittsburgh. People from all over traveled here to participate. This year they came from: Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, California and New York. I didn't meet everybody, so I may be missing a few areas. This was a three day weekend event. This is the first time I attended the full weekend. Last year was the first time that I participated. I attended Friday and only a little of Saturday morning, due to prior obligations. Last year I was indecisive on whether or not I was going and ended up staying in a different hotel. This year I made up my mind early enough and was able to book my room in the hotel where the event was held in, the Doubletree. FRIDAY ACTIVITIES
Please let me apologize in advance for my video recording skills. In the middle of some videos I turned the camera to capture more of the participants. When posting I thought I could edit the video to make it right. I couldn't figure it out. Please turn your device to enjoy the full video. Thank you and my apologies. Now I know. TALENT SHOW For the talent show: three captains were chosen, they picked teams, they had 15 or 20 minutes to come up with a song and routine. This is the what they did. The next three videos are their acts . This next set of videos are people having fun on Friday night, dancing to the 92 songs on the playlist. Everybody didn't stay until the end, 2 AM, but I was proud to say, I did. A group picture was taken of everybody that was there until the end. I didn't get a copy yet. If you know Roland, you know he was all about fitness. Before I knew who Roland was, I would see him running in different places around the city. I saw him quite often, running or he could have been jogging. I just know he was ever present. As time went on, I met Roland at a line dance class. I started attending his classes regularly and following him to different events where he would lead the line dancing or teach it. My husband called me a groupie. As time went on, I learned that Roland had a whole exercise program. He was going to schools, senior centers and everywhere to help people keep moving. He was always on the move, because so many people wanted him to do their family reunion, wedding, school event, church event, and the list goes on. He was loved, admired and looked up to by so many people. I love you Roland. I will miss you, as well as, so many others. Rest in Heaven Roland!
